My second choice would be this one:
Global 6 Pc Block Set

The Messermeister 7 Pc set is a high quality forged knife that I like very much. The set comes with all the knives you need. I have given these knives to my family for presents and they love them.
They are a little lighter than traditional German knives because they have a tapered bolster but they are still a little on the heavy side when compared to High quality Japanese knives.

My second recommendation is the Global 6 pc set. Global knives are really nice and are very light. The 8" Chef's knife is my favorite knife in my house and the one I reach for over all others for most
tasks.

Both sets are a little less than the number of knives you want but you can easily add an additional knife or 2 after you have used them for a while.
