Q: I have seen several Rachael Ray Knives for sale on the internet. Which one is the real Rachael Ray Knife?

A: Rachael Ray originally used a knife made by Wusthof called the Grand Prix Santoku With Hollow Edge. The original model number was 4189. Sales skyrocketed shortly after the show started to air but Rachael Ray and Wusthof had no endorsement agreement.

After 2 years of booming sales Wusthof changed the design of the knife line and renamed them Grand Prix II. The new knife model number was 4175. Talks stalled between the two and Rachael Ray finally decided to accept an endorsement with Furi earlier in 2005.
She first used a similar style knife called the Furi Santoku With Hollow Edge which had a small copper tip on the tail which they nicknamed the copper tail.

This fall Rachael began using her new knife through Furi called the Gusto Grip Santoku. This knife has an orange handle and is featured on her current cooking shows.
